Also, be prepared to enroll in college credit for this semester if you wanted to and have not done so already.

Are you scanning any of the Twitter feeds that appear in the lower left portion of this page? In the past week, I've found some good resources and tips that I think are useful! If you want to see all tweets I've shared, then you can also use the link on the right side of this page in the resources section. Remember, if you find good resources and either tweet them or share them on our class FB page, I'll retweet and usually give extra credit for stellar tips--we are a community of learners!
Ms. Roberts is scheduling an ACT Prep session on Friday 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for those who will be taking their ACT exams on Saturday, and have not already attended a Prep session she has offered previously.
Communications Blog - due Friday, February 10 (a different twist)
- Improvements are always generated as a result of good, effective communications. Always be open, honest, and tactful. Never just point out a problem, but offer a solution. Help the party you are communicating with understand the benefits of a change, or the "big picture" of why you have a certain suggestion. In that spirit, I'm trying something a little different for our Communciations Professional Skill blog.
- No later than Friday at the end of the day, please send me an email, using complete thoughts, sentences, and paragraphs, according to the suggestions above, that addresses the following -
- Has your training experience this year been the best ever? If not, what would make it so?
- What is good about our 3D program? What do you like? What works for you? What helps you reach your fullest potential as a student?
- What can be improved for our 3D program? What are your suggestions to help you reach your fullest potential as a student?
- What do you need from me that may be different in order to reach your fullest potential as a student? Are you confident you will leave the program prepared for your next steps? What are your next steps? What needs to happen so that you do leave the program ready for success?
- What motivates you to do your BEST? Are you dong so on a daily basis? Do you stay manage to motivated, and work extremely hard on attaining new skills? Why or why not? What are your plans next year? Returning to this program? Job? College?
- Any other specific suggestions you may for me are also welcome. THANKS!
- No later than Friday at the end of the day, please send me an email, using complete thoughts, sentences, and paragraphs, according to the suggestions above, that addresses the following -

Creative Blitz Day -- Thursday, February 9! (Optional)
IF you accept this challenge, (intended to be nifty, fun AND inject an extra 4 hours into your grade before progress reports,) you agree to the following guidelines:
- Take charge of your learning for 1 day - find a tutorial or text that covers a concept you want to learn related to an application you have covered in this program to date. (Must be school appropriate.)
- Internet resource/tutorial must be pre-approved by instructor, should be challenging :)
- You are given 1 day to complete this challenge--only on February 9. Be sure you meet your deadline! It's suggested you select your tutorial and/or do any planning or storyboarding to make it happen prior to coming to class.
- This is an individual challenge, not a team challenge.
- In order to receive credit, you MUST publish your work to your Behance portfolio, and a link to your work must also be posted on our Class FB page no later than February 9
- Prize for the best submission? I have something in mind--wait and see!
- Earn 4 hours for your participation. Have fun!
Don't forget, progress reports will be completed on Friday. Work hard to maintain an awesome grade and great progress! Let me know when you have questions.
Where are you on earning certifications? (Adobe Photoshop and/or Flash; I've also ordered Maya Certified Associate vouchers and can give Final Cut Pro X Associate tests.) Are you still doing your KeyTrain exercises to increase your academic skills? Challenge yourself to reach these goals!

L is for Launch!
Grades, as of last Friday, are published. Since we haven't recorded many final projects yet for this quarter, if you did not complete your blog or creative challenge last month, your grade may be low. Work hard and get some projects done, and participate in this month's creative challenge to increase your grade.
- BPA teams - For now, I have placed a temporary grade in the score for your final project. This grade will be replaced with your final grade during the last week of February, when you have finalized your presentations for the state conference, because that is the last component for your final scores.
- This week, I want to be sure all curriculum grades have been entered and are accurate for progress reports.
- Remember, your progress grade will be factored into your course grade at the end of this week, so work hard to keep your progress high.
X is for Xcitement!
I is for Imagination!
P is for Passion!
